Surat Al-Ghashiyah (Arabic: الغاشية‎, “The Overwhelming”, “The Pall”) is the 88th chapter (surah) of the Quran with 26 verses (ayat). This Surah (Sorah) is positioned in Para 30 which is also known as Juz Amma (Juz 30). Hadith / Hadees:The first and foremost exegesis / tafsir of the Quran is found in hadith of Muhammad (ﷺ). Although scholars including ibn Taymiyyah claim that Muhammad (ﷺ) has commented on the whole of the Quran (Al-Quran / Al-Quran), others including Ghazali cite the limited amount of narratives, thus indicating that he has commented only on a portion of the Quran (Quraan / Mushaf). Hadis (حديث) is literally "speech" or "report", that is a recorded saying or tradition of Muhammad (ﷺ) validated by isnad; with Sirah Rasul Allah these comprise the sunnah and reveal shariah. According to Hazrat Aishah (r.a), the life of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was practical implementation of Quran (Koran / Kuran). Therefore, higher count of hadith elevates the importance of the pertinent surah from a certain perspective. This surah was held in special esteem in hadith, which can be observed by these related narratives. According to hadith, the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to recite this surah in Zuhr prayer (namaz / salah / salat) and in congregational prayers of Jumuah and in Eid prayers (solat / salaah / salaat). And the prophet Muhammad used to recite this surah after surah Al-Jumua (Sura 62) or after Al-Ala (Sura 87).Al-Dahhak b. Qais asked al-Numan b. Bashir: What did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited on Friday after reciting the Surah Al-Jumua (62). He replied: He used to recite, "Had the story of overwhelming event reached you ?" (Al-Ghashiya).Samra ibn Jundab narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in the Friday prayer: "Glorify the name of your most high Lord" (Surah 87) and Has the story of the overwhelming event reached you? (Al Ghashiya). Abu Bakr bin An-Nadr said: "We were in At-Taff with Anas, and he led them in praying Zuhr. When he had finished, he said: I prayed Zuhr with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he recited two surahs for us in the two rakahs: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High(Surah 87) and Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming?" (Al-Ghashiyah). It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite in the ‘Eid prayers “Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.” (Surah 87) and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming?” (Al-Ghashiyah). It was narrated from al-Numan b. Bashir that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite on the two Eid prayers and on Jumuah: "GLorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High"(Surah 87) and "Has there come to you the narration of The Overwhelming?"(Al-Ghashiyah) Sometimes the two (Eid and Jumuah) occurred on the same day, and he would recite them (these two Surahs).i) Whoso recites this surah regularly in his obligatory and supererogatory salat, he would receive Allah’s mercy in this world and in the hereafter; he would be protected from the fire of hell, and he would have a smooth sailing during the reckoning.Imam as Sadiq (a.s.) said: If a person regularly recites: Surah Ghashiya in his obligatory and recommended prayers, Allah’s mercy would pervade him in this world as well as the next, and on the Dayof Judgment, Allah would keep that man safe and protected from the chastisement of fire.Surah Al Ghasyiyah merupakan surat ke-88 dalam Al-Qur’an dan tergolong surat Makkiyyah karena turun di Mekkah. Surah al ghosiyah diambil dari kata “Al Ghaasyiyah” yang berarti “peristiwa yang dahsyat” yang merujuk pada hari kiamat.Pada intinya, surat ini menerangkan penderitaan orang-orang kafir dan kenikmatan orang-orang yang beriman di hari kiamat.
